In a recent interview with the Akron Beacon Journal, newly elected Springfield Lakemore Chamber of Commerce President Jeremy Caudill shared his vision for the future of business and economic development in the area. Caudill, also a Springfield Township Trustee, is determined to create a more business-friendly environment and drive economic growth for local entrepreneurs.
Jeremy Caudill: Champion for Local Business
Caudill, a longtime resident and business owner, has deep ties to the community and a strong commitment to seeing it thrive. In addition to his role as a trustee, he owns Kim Tam Park and Ohio Championship Wrestling, both of which contribute to the local economy. His experience as a business owner gives him firsthand insight into the struggles that entrepreneurs face when trying to establish and sustain a business in Springfield Township.

One of Caudill’s primary concerns is eliminating barriers that have made it difficult for small businesses to succeed. He cited an example where a local smoothie shop had to replace its signage at a significant cost due to restrictive zoning ordinances. He believes that by working with township officials to improve regulations, Springfield Township can experience meaningful economic development.
“We are going to be a voice for Springfield-Lakemore businesses in the future,” Caudill stated, emphasizing his commitment to supporting and growing the business community. His goal is to ensure that local businesses are not just surviving but thriving, and he wants to see Springfield and Lakemore positioned as competitive locations for investment and entrepreneurship.

        Key Initiatives for Economic Growth
Expand Chamber Membership: Caudill aims to increase the number of business members and build a stronger business network.
Revitalize Canton Road: He hopes to fill vacant storefronts with thriving businesses to boost the local economy.
Support Youth Entrepreneurship: Launching a business plan competition to inspire the next generation of business leaders.
Enhance Business Visibility: Creating spotlight videos for new chamber members to increase exposure and engagement.

Vice President Tia Lentini: A Vision for Economic and Tourism Revitalization
Joining Caudill in his efforts is newly elected Chamber Vice President Tia Lentini, a dedicated advocate for economic development and revitalization in Springfield Township. Lentini is also a real estate agent who understands the importance of strong business districts in attracting new residents and investors. She is the owner of Experience Springfield Township, a publication promoting local news and businesses, and PlumBum Marketing, a marketing firm based in Stow, Ohio.
Lentini is particularly focused on breathing new life into Lakemore Plaza, a once-thriving shopping hub. Additionally, she aims to address environmental concerns related to Springfield Lake, recognizing its potential as a major tourism draw that could fuel further economic development.
“Fixing the lake is key to bringing visitors back,” Lentini said. “If we can restore it to its former glory, we can attract people who will shop at our stores, eat at our restaurants, and see Springfield and Lakemore as destinations again.”

A Personal Connection to Springfield Lake
Lentini has a personal connection to the lake—her great-great-grandfather, Carl Wieland, founded a resort on the Sawyerwood side. Inspired by that history, she hopes to recapture the spirit of Springfield’s past as a thriving recreational area and use that legacy to fuel modern economic growth.

        Looking Ahead
With Caudill and Lentini leading the Springfield Lakemore Chamber of Commerce, the community is poised for a new era of economic growth. Their shared focus on business development, tourism, and revitalization promises to bring fresh energy to Springfield Township, creating opportunities for both residents and entrepreneurs alike.
